A message from the Rector

It was great to catch up with parents at the senior student, parent, and teacher interviews on Tuesday.

It is always productive to meet with whānau and getting everyone on the same page. It gives the boys the best chance of success. There is another round of senior interviews this Thursday and bookings are still available. Please try to come along even if your son is telling you he has it all under control.

It has been a privilege to sign so many positive postcards this week. Boys who receive one of these have demonstrated one of our school values. These are great motivators for our young men. So make sure if your boy does receive one, he gets an extra big helping of pudding. The junior boys are working hard to try and earn their Courage badge this term and it is great to hear them talking about how they are tracking towards those goals.

I would like to finish off by congratulating all our swimmers that competed in the Otago Secondary Schools event last weekend. In particular, I would like to acknowledge Aleks Kivilev for breaking the record in the 200m breaststroke and Taka Sugiyama who broke the record in the 100m breaststroke. A special mention must go to Daniel Gilbert who won 5 gold medals and broke the records in the 100m and 200m butterfly, and the 200m individual medley. With 24 medals overall won by the boys, it was a highly successful meet and a good reward for all those long hours of training swimming up and down staring at the lines at the bottom of the pool.

Great work boys.
