Over the next few weeks the 12ODR and 13ODR classes will be doing several bike maintenance sessions.
With both year groups mountain biking as part of their respective courses, it makes sense that students learn how to do a safety check of a bike and resolve some common issues themselves.
Alex, from the Malcam Charitable Trust, has been in this week running some of these sessions. There is a good synergy with the Trust's aim being to "encourage young people to become self-supporting and valued members of their communities."
As the boys have been reminded, being able to do these fixes themselves can save them lots of money, while keeping them safe and their bike functional for longer.
While the weather has been unfavourable for riding, these classes have still been a chance to get out of the classroom.
