The New Zealand Secondary Schools Diving Championships were held in Auckland during the school holidays.
It was the first time OBHS competed in the event. Year 13 students Theo Smith and Rohan Leckie-Zaharic along with Year 10 student Flynn MacGill-Brown made the trip north to represent the school.
All boys performed extremely well receiving top placings, finishing the competition 4th in a field of 24 schools from throughout the country.
Theo and Rohan also competed at the Merv Campbell Invitational which is a qualifier event for the World Junior Champs at the beginning of the week. Theo won both the 1m and 3m events and Rohan placed 3rd in the 1m event and 4th in the 3m.
Having returned from a 1 year break from diving, Theo has been selected to represent New Zealand in the junior world competition being held in Montreal, Canada at the end of November.
