Malo le soifua, kia orana, malo e lelei, ni sa bula, taloha ni, fakaalofa atu, mauri, halo olketa, kia ora and warm pacific greetings!
On Tuesday night, Otago Boys' High School, along with our Pasifika Steering Committee, had the pleasure of recognising the achievements of our Pasifika students.
Thank you to all students, whanau and staff that joined our celebration. Our guest speaker, Tagiilima Feleti is Manager of the Pacific Islands Centre Student Services Division at University of Otago. As an old boy he spoke of the traditions of the school and the success that he and his fellow Pasifika Prefects have experienced since leaving OBHS. The students were inspired by his story and Tagiilima represents an excellent role model for our Pasifika students.
We sadly farewelled two important members of our Pasifika Steering Committee: Imelda Nielsen and Rosalie Feleti-Ivala, who have been vocal and supportive advocates of Pasifika Students at OBHS. Their work in strengthening the relationships between Pasifika families and the school, as well as the Tama Tula’i programme, will continue to benefit Pasifika students for years to come.
Congratulations to all of our prize winners:
