A masterclass in piano

Last Sunday three students from OBHS had a unique experience.

Luke Woo, Richard Peng and Oliver MacKenzie took part in a piano masterclass, delivered by two outstanding French musicians. The Alliance Francaise de Dunedin presented a Concert by the French Piano Duettists, the "DUO CZIFFRA". Jean Noel and Ludmilla guided the boys through some of the pieces they are currently trying to master and they also gave a number of tips on how to improve their piano playing in general.

These two world-class musicians spotted a lot of potential amongst our boys and contributed greatly to their advancement. The boys were very inspired by this unique opportunity and were very grateful to participate. The icing on the cake was getting to enjoy the concert given later in the day by the gifted duo, which was well attended by the local Dunedin population.
