While teams were light on numbers, Otago Boys' were well represented in several deciding matches for the final week of Dunedin Secondary Schools' Futsal.
In fact, we had four teams qualify for three finals, across four divisions.
The Year 10 Reds were the first to play for silverware, competing in the Div 3 final. They were able to secure a win in a close game against Taieri College.
In the Div 2 final it was the Year 10 Whites versus the Year 9 Blues. Again, it was a close fought affair but the Year 9s prevailed with some late heroics from Ryan Walker.
In the Div 1 Final the Year 10 Blues, minus a number of players, met a determined Logan Park team. The latter took their chance and held the lead for a good part of the game. However, some strong defensive work from Fraser Anderson and clutch saves from Archie Penington kept hopes alive and eventually the goals came. A 2-1 win to Otago Boys' and another trophy claimed.
A big thank you to parents, Murray Devereax and Tony McFadgen for managing teams (and winning titles). Further thanks to students, Josh Martin, Sullivan Blaikie and Charlie Bracewell for your help in managing teams.
