The first grading matches for water polo took place at Moana Pool on Thursday evening.
A number of new players and the existing squad played with great heart.
Thanks go to our community coach Mr Paul Wagner who was ably assisted in coaching by Jonathon King from Year 12.
A special mention goes to Blake Schofield for an outstanding last-minute goal from more than halfway, set up for him by Toby Hill. This was a perfect example of the power of teamwork and of course, it's always handy having a left-hander on board! Further praise goes to Oliver Jamieson who continues to build his skills as the B team goalie. He was on fire, saving at least six excellent attempts at goal.
It's shaping up to be a great season for water polo.
