It was a day of warmish weather, fantastic House colours and great participation across the Houses.
The competition was fierce from the outset. Huge numbers lined up for the 100m. Each House across the board had at least 3 races for every age group with only the fastest 8 overall to qualify for the afternoons finals.
With the staff fully engaged measuring, timing and recording results, the house chants could be heard reverberating around the Caledonian ground.
Equally impressive was the number of entries in the 200m, 400m, 800m and various field events. As always, the House Relays provided a highlight at the end of the day with Aspinall winning 2 races.
Only one record fell. The previous Under 14 record for discus (Scott McLaren 39.04m) was beaten by Ruben Karawana, with a throw of 40.34m.
Most students competed to the best of their ability with house points on the line in all events.
There was competitiveness, encouragement and lots of enjoyment throughout the day. Well done to everyone for the spirit shown and the effort maintained in warm but windy conditions.
In the end, Aspinall House finished 1st , Park 2nd , Saxton 3rd and McIndoe 4th.
