Blake Schofield joined Year 9 this year. He would say that he is an ordinary boy who just helped out, but what Blake doesn't realise is that his few acts of service make the school look really good in the local community!
So, when people are motivated to send emails, it means that they are seeing admirable behaviour that others can aspire to. The following is extracted from the email that we received about Blake from the organisers at Otago Water Polo.
"I thought I would pass on how impressed we were with Blake last week. He went out of his way to help when he got to the pool and saw we were having a few problems with the set-up. I had never met him before but he came up and asked what he could do to help and then also helped on Thursday. I saw him wandering down the hill after school on Friday as I was heading to the pool for the intermediate competition and thought "Oh no, the little helper wouldn't be there to help again!" Then about ten minutes later he was back and said, "I thought you might need my help again" with the biggest smile. He decided sitting on the bus was a waste of time when he could help and Mum was coming in later anyway. I just thought I would pass this on as too often we hear the moans and then we forget to pass on the good stuff."
Well done Blake! You have clearly listened to the poem for 2023 and are embracing it's message.
