Thursday saw the second round of the cross country competition with the Caversham relay.
Held on a loop track at Kettle Park for the first time this year, the weather came to the party and we had another day with perfect running conditions.
The boys did not disappoint. Tom Dunn, Bruno Hare and Sam Hughes all putting their hand up to be part of a second senior team at relatively short notice so we had 3 teams.
OBHS Senior A - Matthew Bolter, Jake Owen, Ruie Hyslop and Fergus Oberlin-Brown.
OBHS Senior B - Hugo Barsby, Bruno Hare, Sam Hughes and Tom Dunn.
OBHS Junior - Henry Hodgson, Leo Garden, Alex Glover and Sam Hobbs.
The race went really well with Matt leading out and putting in the fastest time of the day of 6 minutes 15 seconds for just over 2km on sandy grass. Tom and Henry lead out the first legs putting in sub 8 minute 2km, Henry just slipping by Tom at the end.
After that, it was all OBHS Senior A and they finished with the fastest 3 times of the day coming home in an extremely impressive 26 min 23 seconds for 8 km. OBHS Senior B finished 3rd in the senior race with 30 min 1 second and OBHS Juniors finished 3rd in their race with a time of 33min 9 seconds.
We are looking forward to Milton next week.
