School House Newsletter - Start of Term 3

Welcome to this weeks Newsletter

Ribanan, karikirakean ao kateimatoan ara katei ma ara taetae ni Tungaru. Greetings to our School House hostel families as we acknowledge the Kiribati language week. Manawatia a Matariki hoki. We also acknowledge Matariki today. Hope you have had a good break with your son/s and looking forward to a successful Term 3. Here are some key reminders and and some updates.

New Security Cameras

We will be installing New Security Cameras this week in the remaining Campbell and Nicholson Dorms in line with the other camera’s around School House hostel. This will give better coverage and ability to monitor the safety of our boys throughout our School House Campus.

Continued Upgrades of Rooms in Hawthorne Dorm

We have continued to develop the best option for upgrading the rooms in both Hawthorne Dorm and Thomson dorm by attending to another room in Hawthorne Dorm with a different current different set up, so we can determine the best way moving forward for the entire dorm. The old existing wardrobe was modified, enlarged & given a facelift. The space also got additional repositioned power points, repositioned bedside lights, new laundry shelf, and a revamped cupboard. We will continue to develop spaces for our boys.

Important Dates:

Return on Sunday 16th July

Just a reminder that boys can return from 2pm onwards back into School House. Dinner is at the normal time of 5:30pm and there is a Whole Hostel meeting at 7pm in the Dining Hall.

Kings High School Interschool this week

All of this week includes our traditional Interschool with our local rivals of Kings High School competing in a variety of sports from Monday 17th July through to Saturday 22th July.
