The best skiing of the season so far, according to the locals.
This is what the 13 Outdoor Education classes had for their recent Snow Sports trip to Coronet Peak, in Queenstown.
With a wide range of abilities in the group, lessons were staggered throughout the morning to accommodate the skiers and snow boarders. These lessons proved invaluable for a few of the newer skiers who made massive progress over the three days. The afternoons were a chance to do some free skiing (and snowboarding) and practice those work-ons from the morning. On the last morning of the trip many of the boys then attempted the practical credits demonstrating a range of skills on an intermediate trail (or higher, for those seeking Excellence).
While a number of students had achieved the credits in Rock Climbing this served as a chance for those who didn’t have them, or who wished to improve their grade to do so.
