Who is NZ’s most successful Olympian?

How many times has New Zealand hosted the British Empire Games or Commonwealth Games?

These are the types of questions our young men faced in the NZ sports round on at the Otago History Quiz.

We had three Year 12 and 13 teams entered and one Year 11. The quiz involved 10 rounds of questions increasing in difficulty. By the end all our teams had performed well. The top Year 12 and 13 team placed second in their division, with the usual quiz regret of we had that answer but changed it. The Year 11 team of three boarders Sam Asher, Gunha Park and Charlie Ottrey along with day boy Ollie Turnbull won the Year 11 division convincingly.

A big congratulations to the Year 11 winners and to the other teams for their efforts. Thank you to Otago Golf Club for hosting the event and the Otago History Teachers' Association for organising it.

Answers, Lisa Carrington (5 Gold and 1 Bronze) and 3 - (1950, 1974, 1990).
