Gateway 2024

By Jacqueline Irving | Posted: Thursday September 7, 2023

To be considered for the Gateway Experience in 2024 you will need to complete an application form on the Applying for Gateway 2024 Google Classroom.

This form went live at Senior Subject Information Evening this week. Applications close on Friday, September 22. Preference is given to students who will be in Year 13 in 2024.

For student access to this classroom, students will need to email Ms Irving or see her in person in Room 13 to be added to the Google Classroom where all applications are submitted. Once a student has access to The Applying for Gateway 2024 a parent/caregiver can be added to the Classroom and view their son's application.

The Process

Record as much detail as possible on your application form. We need to be able to offer where possible a range of experiences to accommodate students. You need to successfully be able to cope with up to 20 days off timetable to gain work experience and still meet your academic obligations in other subjects. There is an expectation that you will secure 20 NCEA credits from Unit Standards attached to Gateway which are spread across NCEA Levels one, two, and three.

Applications will be considered by a panel and you may be required to attend a meeting with a panel member or Ms Irving if we need to clarify your choices and suitability. There are 15 funded placements.
