Last week the following information was shared with our senior students, today a more detailed timetable, including rooming was also shared.
It would be good if you discussed the upcoming exams with your son and supported them in developing a plan of study and preparation.
The exam timetable can be found here. Art, Metal, Wood and DVC all have slots in the timetable to allow you to work on your internal assessment work.
To plan for your exam it is a good idea to develop your personalised exam timetable using this blank version of the timetable. Make a copy first and then paste in your exams, this will also help see if you have any clashes.
The school exams have been designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the exam format, time management, and the types of questions you can expect. This experience will enable you to identify areas where you need further revision, clarify doubts, and refine your exam-taking strategies.
Additionally, if you miss the final NCEA exam in November for an approved reason (e.g. illness, bereavement, national sporting competition), then you may be able to apply for a derived grade based on your school exam result.
Here are a few important points to note:
Preparation: Please treat these exams as you would the final NCEA exams. Prepare as if they were the real thing to gain the most accurate assessment of your progress.
Feedback: Detailed feedback and analysis will be provided to help you gauge your performance. Use this feedback constructively to strengthen your weaker areas.
Attendance: Participation is compulsory. If you are unable to attend the exam due to illness you need to inform the school on the morning of your exam.
Queries: If you have any questions regarding the exams, feel free to reach out to your respective teacher.
To help you prepare you could use the following OBHS Study Guide.
