Man of the Week

Congratulations to Year 10, Finlay Williamson - For outstanding performances in the Year 10 Blues Football team during tournament week, showed great organisation skills of his team leading them forward and on defence, taking penalty kicks and scoring goals, with his team making the grand final of the South Island. Well done Finlay.

New Zealand Maori Under 18 Rugby Team Selection

Congratulations to Year 13, 1st XV Captain, and School House Prefect, Phoenix Tapatu on being selected for the New Zealand Maori Under 18 Rugby Team.  An acknowledgement to the hard work and dedication he has given to his sport.  Well done Phoenix.

New Zealand U15 Condor 7s Winner World Heritage Cup

Congratulations to Year 9 Rahui Valli, who represented the New Zealand U15 Condor 7s team and won the Heritage Cup in France last week.  Rahui also had the honour of leading the team Haka in the grand final.  Well done Rahui.  Great demonstration of skill, talent, and mana.

OBHS Squash Team retain the Otago Regional Title

Well done to Year 13 Joshua Allison and Year 9 Mason Hansen who represented the OBHS squash team in retaining the Otago Regional Squash title for another year. Each team member won their match in the series.  Well done boys.

Last Day of Term - Invitation

We invite any families traveling to pick up their son/s and their gear on Friday 22nd September from 11am onwards to enjoy some snacks and nibbles with us in the dining hall.  This is also a great opportunity to catch up with our staff and other families and reflect on another successful term.  Then if you have time, you can then head down to Littlebourne to watch our School House Year 13s take on the Day Boy Year 13s in the annual Rugby League Leavers match at 1pm.  Hope to see you there.

Trap Shooting Success last weekend

It was a successful weekend in Central Otago for our OBHS Clay Target shooters made entirely of Hostel boys.Alexandra Intercollegiate: Sunday 3/9/23Johnathon King, Shamus Young, Hunter Burgess, and Dustin Young.Shamus Young First Senior Single Barrel.Lower South Island Fish and Game Shields: Galloway 3/9/23Otago 3 person Skeet Team containing Johnathon King won Skeet.Otago 5 person DTL Team containing Shamus Young won DTL

Thanks to Ms. Irving for driving the boys around and looking after them brilliantly, as usual.

Also thanks to Greg King for organising a practice shoot at Wānaka Gun Cub on Saturday to get them in the zone for Sunday!  Well done to all our families involved and to our hostel shooters.

Monday 30th October - Skippers Feast (Year 13 Farewell Dinner)

Tuesday 31st October - Senior Prize Giving

Wednesday 1st November - Year 13 March out of the Archway and Seniors on study leave.
