I te Raapa o tenei wiki, kua timata te whakataetae a whare i roto i te kura.
On Wednesday this week, OBHS held the annual School Haka competition. The four Houses had been practicing in the lead up to this event with commitment and vigour.
No one was sure how well they would perform with the introduction of the new school Haka. However, there was no need for concern as each House performed the Haka with passion, enthusiasm and good execution. They did themselves and their House proud.
It was a great spectacle, culminating with a mass school Haka for the first time since its evolution. In terms of the results, they were the closest that we have seen in a long time. In the end Saxton House won narrowly with both McIndoe and Aspinall second equal, and Park narrowly fourth.
Well done to everyone involved, and a special thank you to Matua Mac Te Ngahue who judged the event.
