2024 uniform grants

The JR McKenzie Youth Education Fund has a proud tradition of supporting families in need of financial assistance, with the purchasing of a school uniform.

As such, we are pleased to invite grant applications from suitable candidates. The closing date for applications is Friday, 8 December 2023. Late applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Please find attached a copy of the 2024 application form. Completed forms should be emailed to: [email protected]

Our criteria allow for applications from those students entering high school, college and intermediate for the first time. 

Applications will only be considered for families requiring financial assistance, and in this regard, it must be signed by an independent sponsor before an application is returned to us. The sponsor should be an organisation that is familiar with the applicant's circumstances (i.e school, social service agency, Budget Advisory Service etc).

Applications outside the above criteria will not be considered.

Grants must be used for the purchase of basic school clothing and footwear only (excluding road shoes/runners/stationery/school bags). 

Please note if the application is for a uniform for the 2024 school year, applications will not be considered until after December 8th and purchase orders will be sent to successful applicants before Xmas 2023.

Also note that if a student has been a previous recipient of a JR McKenzie uniform grant, they will not be eligible for additional or future uniform grants so this should be considered when applying for a grant for a child entering College or Intermediate.

Parents/guardians of any unsuccessful applications will also be advised in writing.

As usual, a random sample of recipient families may be contacted directly by my committee members with the intention of ascertaining their needs to assist us in future years.

Please ensure applications are properly completed, including the signing of the application by a sponsor, and forwarded to the above email address prior to the closing date Friday, 8 December 2023.
