NZSS Mountain Biking Championships

In the last weekend of the school holidays the New Zealand Secondary Schools’ Mountain Biking Championships were hosted by the Marlborough Mountain Biking Club, in Blenheim.

We had one rider compete, Shaun Hasler.

He represented the School in the Downhill and Enduro events. In the former, he was seeded 9th after his practice and seeding runs but pulled out a fantastic final timed run to finish 6th out of 33 riders, in the U-17 division.

In the Enduro, Shaun was well-positioned for another top-10 placing having posted the 10th and 8th fastest times on the first and third stages, respectively. Unfortunately, a crash on the 2nd stage took him out of contention.

A big thanks to Sherree and Jason (and family) for supporting Shaun to get to the event.
