Although we still have to wait a little bit longer, the holidays are getting closer and closer.
The long summer break is a great time to relax, spend time with family and friends, travel, and not think too much about school. It’s also a good time to catch up on some reading goals! There are so many benefits to taking time to read over the break: it keeps your brain active, it gives you a break from screen time, it’s a great way to wind down and manage your mental health, it helps you develop empathy and critical thinking, and it will set you up well for the next school year.
Here at the library, we want to support our students’ summer reading goals, and we would prefer our books are out being read rather than gathering dust over the break. The librarian can make up summer reading packs for you to take home and return in the new year. To request a summer reading pack, please fill out the questionnaire here, or simply email the librarian at [email protected].
Packs for senior students can be made available before the beginning of study leave. Packs for junior students will be available closer to the end of the year. Unfortunately, this offer is not available for Year 13 students or students not planning to return next year.
