Man of the Week
Congratulations to Year 9 Caleb Ede, who had an outstanding day on the weekend in Cricket playing for the Senior Reds against South Otago 1st XI. Caleb scored 36 with the bat and then also took 2 wickets for only 18 runs in his bowling department. A great effort for young man. Well done Caleb.
Reminder: Hostel Closed from Thursday 7th December
Just a reminder we are closed from 7th December after school. All boys are to depart the hostel by this date. School also closes this same day after Junior Prize-giving.
Year 7 Hostel Open Day - Friday 1st December
We have our annual Year 7 Hostel Open Day coming up on Friday 1st December from 9am - 2pm. Morning Tea and Lunch will be provided. We already have a number of families registered which is great. Families considering Boarding for 2025 and beyond should register and attend to get good insight into School House hostel life as well as life at Otago Boys' High School. There will be special tours of both school and hostel and some taster activities for boys to try out and get involved in. Year 8 Overnight Stay - 2024 Year 9s
We will welcome our new 2024 Year 9 enrollments into School House hostel for their over night experience from 3pm onwards. We are looking forward to helping our new boys get to know the place alongside our 2024 School House Prefects, led by 2024 Head of Hostel, Archie Chittock. We have also invited our new 2024 Year 10s and 11s on the same night to spend the night with our current Juniors in Year 9 and 10.
Reach System for Special/Overnight/Weekend Leave
We continue to encourage all parents to ensure they are using the Reach platform on their devices for any parental leave requirement so we have confirmed documentation and details to ensure boys are monitored and kept safe. Mattress Protectors
Just a reminder each boy is to bring in a mattress protector as part of their bedding when they are in the hostel. Please keep this in mind for 2024.
