Surf Life Saving success for OBHS boys

This past weekend some of our boys have had success at the Surf Life Saving Junior South Island Championships.

Toby Hill in Year 10 raced in 6 individual events (4 in the water and 2 on the beach). He had an outstanding competition overall and won all 4 South Island titles in the water events, Board Race, Surf Swim Race, Run Swim Race and Diamond Race. The weekend was topped off with Toby Hill winning Top South Island Under 14 boy overall!

Toby partnered up with fellow Year 10, Robert Lloyd to race in the team events where the boys both got 3rd in the board relay and 2nd in the tube rescue. Both boys then competed in a mixed team of 4 athletes to win the Cameron, a race where one swims, one boards and the other two run. Well done to both boys on these achievements.

This coming weekend Toby will race in the senior South Island Championships where he will compete in the next grade up, U15s. The following week he will be heading to Mt Maunganui to race at Nationals.

We wish him the best of luck!
